Kez is a Dales pony with attitude, one thing that he dislikes is having his head restrained even in a gentle way he always thinks something is going to happen and winds himself and me up, causing a vicious circle as i think he might misbehave so i take a stronger contact and so it goes on. That is until my friend tried him in a Neue Schule Waterford "NS" Jumper when i was away for a couple of days, on my return i was amazed at the difference no grabbing at the bit, no leaning and a relaxed confident manner - the first time in 6 years. I can now ride out and enjoy hacking round the farm trotting and cantering with a pony who is happy and relaxed because of the action of the bit he doesn't take hold and gone is the need to feel that i must also take hold. The circle is now broken thanks to my friend who tried the bit.
